Early Head Start Caregiver

Staff provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for infants and toddlers while supporting their physical, emotional, and cognitive growth. They implement daily routines and learning activities. Caregivers also build strong partnerships with families to ensure the overall well-being of each child.

Pay Range: 17.29-19.49 (Depending on credentials)

Requirements:

  • Must possess an infant toddler CDA TCC, or AS or BS degree in ECE birth to 5.
  • Experience in working with toddlers, including those with special needs.
  • Knowledgeable of resources within the community.
  • Aware of the cultural and linguistic diversity of the children and families in the community.
  • Must secure an acceptable criminal records check.
  • Knowledgeable of basic computer skills and predominant software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet).

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

  • Provide a safe, nurturing, stimulating and secure learning environment.
  • Prepare lesson plans based on data collected during observations
  • Monitor and record progress of children
  • Maintain all required documentation
  • Hold parent/teacher conferences and conduct student home visits
  • Work to provide early establishment of a trusting and productive partnership with their students’ families to promote the advancement of those children and families
  • Work to ensure that all aspects of the program meet or exceed Head Start Performance Standards and other requirements as set forth in the funding agency regulations
  • Work to ensure that all aspects of the program meet or exceed all requirements set forth by the governing agency
  • Follow all guidelines set forth in the Ninth District Opportunity’s Personnel Policies, Procedures Manual, and Operations Plan
  • Attend training sessions as required by the agency

Schedule:

8 hour shift

Pay Range 17.29-19.48
Day shift
Monday to Friday
