The Rabun County Employment Center is an adaptive re-use of the former Rabun County Memorial Hospital. The goal of the center is to help create a highly employable workforce for the 21st century by improving the skills of the area’s workers. The center brings together the employment services of the Georgia Department of Labor (GA DOL) and the workforce training offered by North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) to create opportunities to participate in training programs designed to address the community’s workforce needs.

The NGTC Adult Education Department serves residents of Fannin, Franklin, Habersham, Rabun, Stephens, Towns, Union, and White counties who are returning to school to resume educational programs interrupted in years past as well as those working toward personal educational goals. Instructional programs are self-paced for individual students to provide flexibility and provided by dedicated teachers, and many levels of instruction are offered to accommodate the needs of adult learners. There is no charge for books or materials used in adult education classes. Adult education classes are taught free of charge to those age 16 and older.
